From the call to book the session with Marcia to the warm arrival, flawless make-up application, photo shoot and the resulting photos - I received first class service and care at every turn. I was recommended to Dan Demetriad by a business associate and I am so glad he guided me Dan's way.  I am a business executive who was in need of a updated head shot.  
What I noticed immediately from Dan and his associate Marcia was the ease they put me in (not brusk and eager to get the job finished as with past NYC studios) - asking me what type of music I wanted to listen to - being a lover of classical music I said "How about some Sibelius?" and low behold he said "we have the 2nd and 5th Symphonies" - we were off to a good start!
Dan's professionalism showed through as he took his time making sure I was happy with the type of look I wanted to achieve from my head shot. I must admit, I don't remember ever looking so good in a photograph. Besides being such a professional at his craft Dan is a very interesting person, extremely well read and a great storyteller.

I went here to get my first set of headshots done, and Dan and Marcia are INCREDIBLY warm, honest, hardworking people who care about the work they produce, the welcoming atmosphere in the studio, and how I felt when I left. Dan was a wonderful photographer, who helped me to feel at ease with presenting myself to the camera. Marcia and I bonded over a common interest and shared a few laughs. Dan even offered to retouch a few images of mine.

I used a Living Social deal and COULD NOT BE HAPPIER!  I paid in full for the discounted deal through Living Social. My images were received in a timely fashion, both when the shoot was released online to me via email as well as when I received the retouched pictures.

I am very pleased with the recent experience my son and I had at Dan Demetriad Studios. Since this was our very first time to be photographed by a professional, we had no idea what to expect.  The warm welcome we received from Dan and Marcia when we arrived at the studio put us at ease right away.  Dan guided us through the hour of photo shooting and after about 100 pictures we were able to see immediately how each one turned out. An e-mail with all the images followed within a day. We selected the pictures we wanted  developed and the ones we wanted on a CD.  When we received the finished product, we were thrilled with the end result. The prints are stunning to say the least, and  I am so delighted with them as is my family. The best choice I ever made was selecting Dan Demetriad Studios for the most beautiful and professional pictures.

Dan is a remarkable, wonderful and patient photographer and I highly recommend him.

I Dan Demetriad took some portrait photos for me.  Overall, I had an excellent experience.

1) Attention to details: even though it was a simple photograph he was taking, he was extremely meticulous about making sure the photo was perfect. Lighting, makeup, background music, etc. He will also counsel you on the best way to portray yourself in a photo depending on what your objectives are.

2) Follow-up: He quickly shared all of my proofs and turned around the retouched images very quickly.

I would highly recommend him for anyone looking for business portraits or headshots.

I'm a successful author and and speaker and also appear on many TV shows so having a good photo is very important for my career. I've been searching for a good photographer for MANY years and always hated the results. Then I got a coupon to try Dan. I was amazed at how he took his time and gave me such good directions for how to present myself to the camera, instead of using my a old poses. Despite my protests, I listened and he was right about it all. The hardest part was choosing the ones to use as they were all fabulous! My friends, who I asked for assistance in choosing agreed. Dan was able to capture my essence and these are the best photos of me ever. He was also a pleasure to deal with. He made a point of letting me know he wanted me to be happy with the photos. I got exactly what I wanted. He even sent an extra one that he cropped after I'd said I didn't want it cropped and truthfully, it's the one I use most. Dan Demetriad is the best photographer in town (and NYC is one big town!).

In addition to taking fantastic photographs, he takes the time to establish a professional relationship with the subject and then allows the space for the photograph to be taken.  He shoots endlessly until he is satisfied that he has several pictures that you will like. I never felt rushed or pressured, and this was evident in the results. I received the proofs within a few days, indicated my favorites after Dan gave me a few tips for selecting them, and then was sent the best photographs that have ever been taken of me.

Colleagues and friends are still complimenting me on them. The entire experience with Dan Demetriad was both pleasant and professional. I have recommended him to several others interested in photos and they have all had the same results.  Nice to know there is still someone out there with a personal touch and pride in his work.

We recently purchased an awesome deal through "Living Social" with Dan Demetriad Studios - professional headshots for our two businesses.  We couldn't have been more pleased with the results! The deal included professional make-up application, a photo shoot that lasted about 1.5 hours and included several clothing changes, a gallery of over 100 photos sent by email and put on CD, numerous professionally retouched photos and discounts for further photo opportunities. Dan Demetriad is a true professional and could not have been warmer during the photoshoot.  He has an awesome library of music CD's that he allowed us to select for use during the shoot.  We changed clothing three times during the shoot which gave us a great gallery of photos to choose from with different "looks".  In between clothing changes, Dan even graciously showed us the photo gallery from previous shoot on his computer so that we could make adjustments to poses, expressions, etc. Following the photo shoot, we had the complete gallery of photos sent to us by email within 48 hours, and we received the CD with all photos promptly in the mail.  Dan kept in contact with us by email, asking us to choose several of our favorite shots which he then "retouched" to make the photos look flawless. He even threw an extra retouched shot at no additional fee.In short we were extremely pleased with the process and the results. Not only will we continue to use Dan Demetriad studios for all future professional photos, but we are pleased to recommend his services to our friends and colleagues.  Keep watching "Living Social" because a deal like this is a gift!
